User-Generated Content
User-generated content (UGC) brings authenticity, community engagement, and real-world perspective to our digital presence. This kind of content showcases campus life, academic experiences, and student achievements in a way that traditional marketing simply can’t replicate.
Through user-generated content, we can amplify the voices of our students and highlight the dynamic, innovative environment that defines ¶®É«µÛ. As student, alumni, faculty, and staff contributors, you become active participants in shaping our narrative. This not only increases engagement across platforms but also builds trust with prospective students who see real experiences.
Self-Recording Guidelines
The following guidelines will help you capture high-quality footage for editing and production. This assumes you are comfortable using basic iPhone or Android camera settings.Â
- We encourage you to choose a quiet location with minimal background noise.
- Use even lighting from the front. A window in front of you works well as soft, natural light. If outside, face the sun.
- Avoid strong backlighting (bright windows behind you).
- Keep your background simple and uncluttered.
- Avoid visible logos, labels, or branded items.
- Do not include light fixtures directly behind your head.
- Film vertically (portrait orientation).
- Hold your phone at eye level so you’re looking straight ahead.
- Keep your head and upper torso centered in frame.
- When speaking, look directly into the camera lens.
- Keep the camera steady.
- Speak clearly and naturally.
- Avoid windy areas.
- If possible, remove headphones or avoid using speakerphone.
- Keep it short and focused.
- Aim for 15-30 seconds.
