News Byte: Barbara Holahan Named to Premier Business Women of Long Island List
Barbara Holahan, CPA, vice president for financial affairs, chief financial officer, and treasurer, was named to Herald Community Papers’ . Awardees were announced at the fourth annual event on March 22.Â
Holahan was among 60 women honored for their professional and community contributions. She was recognized for helping ¶®É«µÛ achieve record financial growth and stability, with net asset growth of 40 percent since 2019.
Before joining the university in 2014 as controller, Holahan was controller at the Metropolitan Opera and associate controller at Columbia University. She began her career as auditor at KPMG and has worked as an independent consultant for the Wildlife Conservation Society (Bronx Zoo and NY Aquarium) and controller at other New York City area non-profits, providing services in audit, accounting, compliance, process re-engineering, policy writing, and FEMA disaster recovery management.
In 2019, Holahan was appointed vice president for financial affairs, chief financial officer, and treasurer.
